History
Woodworking has a long tradition in Turany, dating back to the 19th century. In 1887, the village saw the establishment of its first woodworking business, the SCHULZ & POLLAK sawmill. After a fire in 1914, operations resumed under the Spojená drevárska účastinná spoločnosť (United Woodworking Joint Stock Company). In 1948, the plant was renamed DREVINA.
The Former DREVINA Turany Plant
Following the fall of the Iron Curtain, DREVINA underwent significant changes. Once one of the largest woodworking companies in what was then Czechoslovakia, with numerous operations and several thousand employees, only the machinery plant remained in operation after privatization in the 1990s.
Privatised by private individuals in 1994, it has since operated under the name STATON, s.r.o.

The company’s product range has evolved significantly. The factory, which once produced almost exclusively woodworking machines, tools, equipment, and technological units, has gradually shifted its focus to serving customers in the metalworking sector. The share of woodworking clients has dropped to around 20%, supplemented by customers in the plastics and composite materials industries.
A major milestone came in 1996, when the company purchased its first coating equipment. From that point on, STATON began developing its own coating systems, leading to the advanced PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) equipment used today, which operates using both the ARC evaporation and magnetron sputtering methods.
Another key milestone came in 2005, with the purchase of our first CNC grinding machine for the production and regrinding of tools.
Since then, STATON has concentrated on the production and sale of its own products and services. More recently, the company has expanded to include tools from leading international manufacturers, primarily from EU countries and the US. In doing so, STATON places particular emphasis on the quality and service of the products it supplies.
